SYNOPSIS
Spring, in the year of withering villages. Life in the periphery is somber and hopless.
In hopes of selling the forest inherited from his grandfather and start over again, the indebted writer Peteri (Velvo Väli) flees from a small town to his home village. The trouble is that the inheritance belongs to his brother Jakobi (Erik Ruus), who after burning out in the business has setteled down in their childhood home. Sunken into the solitude, Jakobi does not want to hear anything about selling the forest. However, time is running out and the indebted writer is ready to take any measures. Making plans does take time and unwillingy Peteri is forced to unlock some doors from his past. In the light of decline he comes face to face with his denied memories. His former schoolmates will be, his guides: fanatic countryman Hannes (Tarvo Sõmer), Marta (Liisa Aibel), a teacher of a soon to be closed village school and Tepo (Toomas Suuman), the unstoppable world improver, who after deportation has returened to his home village and has decided to fight for the future to the end.
